The project completed major construction work and achieved its Commercial Operation Date with the Alberta system operator.

Buffalo Plains delivered the first electricity produced by the project to the Alberta grid.

CIP began construction of the Buffalo Plains facility, starting the installation of the project’s 83 turbines and supporting infrastructure.

The project received permits from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) to construct and interconnect the wind farm.

Buffalo Plains held the first in a series of open houses to consult with local stakeholders and provide information as well as to collect feedback concerning the project.

The project completed the following steps: public consultation, environmental impact assessments, wind resource assessments, layout optimization and preliminary project engineering.
